McCook, York, and North Platte also welcomed new officers, and several sheriff's departments celebrate graduates too.
For Burwell native Scott Anderson, finding a job with the Kearney Police Department is a dream come true.
He said, "It's something I've been working for, for several years. Getting on the police department's a very tough process. At the end of this 16 weeks is the culmination of the hard work we've gone through. It's a great feeling."
Madison County Sheriff Vernon Hjorth served as the graduation speaker. He encouraged the new officers to put down their cell phones, and go and talk to people on their beat.
In all, 45 men and women earned their certification in this session.
