Authorities say a 60-year-old man remained hospitalized nearly a day after being rescued from an eastern Nebraska lake.

James Lee remained in critical condition Monday morning, according to Bryan Medical Center spokeswoman Lori Lee, who is no relation to James Lee.

Lancaster County Sheriff's Sgt. Phil Lang says Lee was seen swimming in Branched Oak Lake Sunday afternoon trying to retrieve his personal watercraft, which had floated away. Boaters soon found him face down in the water.

The boaters pulled him out of the water and called 911 around 12:30 p.m. Bystanders performed CPR on Lee for more than 25 minutes until paramedics arrived.

Lee was then flown to the hospital.
