This week's outdoor news:
Young anglers had the very comfortable conditions to fish in during the 3rd annual Nebraska High School Fishing Tournament on Saturday.
Twenty-one teams signed up to fish and Harlan Reservoir this year, up from last year's 13 teams.
Many teams had a hard time bringing in any largemouth bass, but a few were able bring some into the boat. Two teams caught five fish, but the Gretna team of Payne Ahrens and Eric Soe took first place with a fish weigh in of 15 pounds.
Soe was awarded for the tournament's biggest fish as well, a 5.5 pounder.
Ahrens and Soe will advance to the regionaltournament at Lake Texhoma. Nebraska'srepresentatives won the last two regionals, and the team of Ahrens and Soe will try to make itthree.
