"A Bumper Crop of Fun" Unveiled as 2014 State Fair Theme

State Fair officials have unveiled the theme of this year's Nebraska State Fair -- "A Bumper Crop of Fun".

The theme is meant to be a reflection of the fair's new mission statement, according to Shaun Schleif, marketing and sponsorship director.

The mission statement is: "The nation'smost innovative exhibition focusing on interactive agriculture and educationalexperiences promoting families, fun, and Nebraska pride."

"The new theme isvery forward thinking, while still incorporating the important features thathave been part of the Nebraska State Fair's fabric for the past 145 years,"Schleif said. The idea is that the agricultural and educational staples of the fair are being made more interactive and technologically advanced.

"Ourultimate goal in everything we do is to provide a safe clean family event thatallows everyone attending to learn something, see something and experiencesomething new--to create new memories that last a lifetime. Most of all, we want everyone to have fun," said Schleif.

The Nebraska StateFair will take place from August 22 through September 1.
