Against the Odds- UNK Learning by Giving Grants
For a second straight year a $10,000 grant from the Learning by GivingFoundation is giving students at the University of Nebraska at Kearney anopportunity to make grants to local nonprofit organizations.
Students participating in the UNK Field Experience in Marketingcourse, mentored by Dr. Sri Seshadri, UNK professor in the Department ofMarketing and Management Information Systems, have received the money from thefoundation, which was originally established by Doris Buffet, sister of WarrenBuffet as the Sunshine Lady Foundation.
This year's focus will be on programs that benefit children, below the high-school age level, within the Buffalo county area or up to $5,000 per program.
