For years Minden has banned the sale of alcohol in town on Sundays, but now business owners are pushing for a change.
City council will vote at their next meeting on whether to allow the sale of alcohol in town seven days a week, a battle council member Lathan Thompson has been fighting for the past twelve years.
At the last city council meeting the owner of Mason's suggested the change.
"Times have changed, liquor stores are opened. It's really not an issue anymore," said Thompson.
The last time this was brought up, the city let the voters decide. In the 2006 primary 509 peopled voted against sales on Sunday compared to 495 people for it.
