July Fourth is celebrated in high fashion this weekend, as the community of Arapahoe welcomes people from all across the state.
Prairie Pioneer Days have been going on for more than 30 years, and officials say the two-day celebration shows how much they honor their history and their freedom.
"Prairie Pioneer Days is basically not only is it celebrating our independence, but also the pioneers who settled here," said Arapahoe Chamber of Commerce board member Arlyn Wasenius. "And that settlement is part of our freedom as well. People moved west, it's just a way to celebrate both those entities."
Prairie Pioneer Days continues Friday night and Saturday with events including barbecue feeds, softball tournaments, and of course... fireworks.
