Aurora Cooperative, a company with deep roots in Nebraska, released its earnings Friday and things are looking better than ever for them.
They reported sales and related income totaling $1.1 billion in 2012 and total earnings of approximately $29 million.
This represents the highest earnings year in the company's history.
Company spokeswoman Dawn Caldwell said half the billion dollars came from selling grain, and the other half from services and inputs needed to grow the crop, like fertilizer, fuel, and agronomy services.
Aurora Cooperative recently ranked among the 40 largest farm coops in the country, according to the USDA.
The company is farmer-owned. Caldwell said the big sales year will result in cash back to farmers.
NTV will take a big picture look at farm coops starting Monday.
