The local, farmer-owned Aurora Cooperative announced Tuesday that they did over $1.1 billion in sales for the 2013 fiscal year, giving many Nebraska farmers a reason to celebrate.
Breaking or nearly breaking records, total earnings for the company reached $29 million and farmer-owner equity grew to $159million.
And since farmers are the owners, they will receive morethan $2.5 million paid back to them.
"The AuroraCooperative's farmer-owners continue to support and build their company, asevidenced by these results," said George Hohwieler, president and CEO of the cooperative.
Hohwieler went on to thank the farmers and ranchers who have shown commitment to the way the cooperative does business.
Farmer-ownerswill be updated on the company's progress at its annual business meeting inJanuary 2014.
