Authorities Asking for Help to Find Suspects in Beating of Davenport Man


The Nebraska State Patrol is asking for the public's help to locate two suspects believed to be involved in the beating of a Davenport man.

The agency says investigators are looking fortwo white males.

One suspect is said to beapproximately 55 years old, 5'8'', 165 lbs., with a sandy blonde orlight gray beard and mustache, and short sandy blonde or light gray hair. Hewas wearing a green camouflage shirt, desert camouflage pants, boots and abrown military style hat.

The second suspect is described as being inhis 40's, approximately 5'8'', 190 lbs., with a stocky build. He waswearing a black ski mask, dark glasses, a red shirt under a black zip-upsweatshirt, black sweat pants and black or gray hiking boots.

Officers with the Nuckolls County Sheriff's Office requested the agency's assistance in investigating an assault that occurred in a home under construction north of Oak.

StevenReinke, 62, Davenport, told investigators he was working alone in the home when two males entered the home around 12:30 p.m. Tuesday, andassaulted him with a wooden baseball bat.

He reportedly walked to a neighbor's house where he was later found upon their return home.

Reinke suffered a skullfracture, a broken arm and a broken leg.

Authorities believe the suspects headed south after leaving the home, driving an older boxy 1996-stylegreen Dodge Dakota pickup, with a matching green topper and a possible redpinstripe on both the pickup and the topper.
