Authorities have released the name of the man killed in a three-vehicle crash northeast of Kearney Friday morning.

The Buffalo County Sheriff's Office identified the man as 29-year-old James Luft, of Gibbon.

The office says the accident occurred around 7 a.m. at the intersection of 56th Street and Antelope Avenue. The sheriff's office says a 2007 Chevrolet pickup driven by Luft didn't stop at the intersection and collided with a 2013 Chevrolet pickup driven by 54-year-old Scott Frauen, of rural Kearney.

Then one of the trucks struck a 1994 Chevrolet Camaro stopped at the intersection. It was driven by 25-year-old Nathan Finley, of Kearney.

Nebraska Public Power District says one of the cars hit a power pole at the intersection leaving more than 900 residents in the area without power until later that afternoon.
