Nebraska's farmers andranchers along with the Nebraska Beef Council have announced the launch of the4th annual Nebraska's Best Burger contest. A new format to thecontest will determine the winner based on a combination of online votes andthe scores from a panel of judges.
Online nominations will beaccepted from March 1st through March 15th on theNebraska Beef Council website www.nebeef.orgor through their Facebook page. On March 15th, the top fivenominated restaurants will be announced. From March 15th throughMarch 31st, the public will be asked to vote again for one of the 5finalists. During the final voting period, a panel of judges will also scorethe top five contestants. The overall contest winner will be determined by thehighest combined total from the online vote and judges' scores.
Another change to this year'scontest is that past winners will now be eligible to win again. Last year, thePeppermill Restaurant in Valentine, NE claimed the top prize.
"This contest is really aboutshowing off the great tasting beef served all across Nebraska," said AdamWegner, Director of Marketing for the Nebraska Beef Council. "We've hadhundreds of restaurants nominated for this award in the past and all of themwere viable candidates. We're looking forward to even more participation thisyear."
Other past winners of theaward include the Cellar Bar & Grill in Kearney and Stella's Bar &Grill in Bellevue.
