For adults, getting into the Christmas spirit may mean Black Friday shopping, but for kids it's all about meeting the big guy in red.
Kearney's Viaero Event Center made sure that happened on Saturday, at the fourth annual 'Breakfast With Santa'.
Over a thousand families came out for pancakes, photos, crafts, ice skating and more... all to get in the Christmas spirit and bring the community together.
"Oh, it's great, looks like there's a great turnout, there's tons of things for the kids to do," said event participant Shannon Bruha. "I think it's a really nice thing for Kearney to have."
"This is one of our favorite events that we put on. It's a chance for families to really come together and celebrate the holidays, it happens the first Saturday in December always," said Kearney Children's Museum Executive Director Tara Knuth. "So a great way to kick off the holiday season and Christmas season with Santa and everything, and just a chance for families to connect."
'Breakfast With Santa' is a fundraiser for Kearney's Children's Museum, and has grown from 200 families to over 1,000 families in just four years.
