Kentucky Group Pursues Re-entry Center in Kearney

Kentucky-based Dismas Charities hopes to bring a re-entry program to Kearney.

The company secured a building permit in Kearney last year. They want to build a facility to house federal prisoners who have committed non-violent crimes primarily related to substance abuse.

The center would offer supervision and support for inmates nearing release.

The group is still waiting for a response from a bid submitted to the Federal Bureau of Prisons for the center.
