By Sara Kirkley
Burwell, NE — Burwell Public Schools has started the school year back to normal after a threatening note locked buildings down this past spring. Students are once again allowed open-campus lunch, according to Superintendent Dan Bird. Bird said security doors were installed at the high school and elementary over the summer to increase safety. He said the Nebraska State Patrol continues to investigate the note, but he's confident that students are safe.
