Breast Cancer Treatment Centers Receive Funds Raised In October
On Monday Central Health Center and Dickey's BBQ Pit will be presenting a check to St. Francis Cancer Treatment Center and Good Samaritan Cancer Treatment Center from funds raised during the month of October in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
A check for $374 will be presented to St. Francis Cancer Treatment Center at 10:00 a.m. on Monday. A check for $306 will be presented to Good Samaritan Cancer Treatment Center at 1:00 p.m. later on that same day. Both presentations will take place at their individual cancer treatment centers.
Central Health Center honored Breast Cancer Awareness Month with Think Pink.
For Think Pink, employees dressed in pink and donated money to be allowed to wear jeans on Fridays. Members of the community were invited to join Central Health Center in wearing pink and donating money.
Dickey's BBQ Pit in Kearney and Grand Island joined in showing their support of Central Health Center's Think Pink and local cancer treatment centers by hosting a fundraiser night on October 26, where they contributed a portion of their proceeds to the cause.
Good Samaritan Cancer Treatment Center has selected to use the funds to purchase robes for breast cancer patients to wear while receiving treatment and for them to keep as their own following treatment. St. Francis Cancer Treatment Center will use the funds to purchase Medi Alert bracelets for their breast cancer patients. Central Health Center staff and Dickey's BBQ staff are very excited and pleased to be a part of this event and support this event on behalf of breast cancer patients in Central Nebraska.
