The campaign trails are heating up during this political season with many candidates stopping in Kearney for the Governors Ag Conference.
Candidate for attorney general Brian Buescher stopped by Daylight Donuts in Kearney for a meet and greet with community members.
A rural native Nebraskan, Buescher currently serves as an Agro-Business Attorney in Omaha. He feels his field of work sets him apart from other candidates.
"The career I've chosen involves representing farmers and ranchers. I'm going to make sure that I get my message out, particularly in western Nebraska, because I'm very concerned about rural issues and they are very important to me. I have the specific experience in regard to handling rural issues," said Buescher.
Other big issues for Buescher involve changing the good time law and working against what he calls overreaching federal regulations.
Buescher is one of four candidates running for the spot. Also running are Pete Pirsch, Doug Peterson and Mike Hilgers.
The primary election is set for May 13.
