An annual car show is helping a local town preserve its history.

In its 17th year, the Lincoln Highway Festival and Car Show draws people from all over the Tri-City area.

Organizers say it's continued to grow every year.

That's good news for Shelton’s Historical Society. It's one of their largest fundraisers.

"It's the history of our town. We took that building over about 30-some years ago and have really fixed it up: new roof, new windows, new doors, new furnaces and so, little by little. Little by little we're gathering Shelton memorabilia to put in it," said Cyndy Ryan, a Historical Society member.

Ryan said they've featured things like old wedding dresses and artifacts from the Cornhusker Ordinance Plant.
