A 36-year-old central Nebraska man has been sentenced to five years in prison for selling meth in and around Grand Island.
U.S. District Court Judge John Gerrard sentenced Luis Jordan Monday to an additional $100 special assessment fee and four years of supervised release once he leaves prison.
Officials said that on November 4, 2011, and November 8, 2011,Jordan sold a total of 20 grams of 95 percent puremeth to a cooperating witness who was working with law enforcementin Grand Island.
Later on October 20, 2012, Jordan set up a deal to sell 5 ounces of meth to a cooperating witness in Duncan, Neb. According to prosecutors, law enforcement officers searched his vehicle upon arriving at the meeting location. They found a stuffed animal in the cargo area that contained a bag with the meth inside.
This case was investigated by the Central Nebraska Drug and Safe Streets Task Force in Grand Island and Specialized Narcotics Abuse Reduction Effort Drug Task Force in Columbus.
