College Fair Offers Many Options For High Schoolers

School may have only started a month ago, but for many high schoolers, college is just around the corner.

Students and parents flooded the State Fair Exhibit Building on Sunday, waiting to talk to college recruiters.

The Education Quest college fair gives students a chance to explore their options, so they can find the right fit for them.

Officials say timing is crucial in making the decision.

"You need to apply for admissions in the fall of your Senior year, so as Juniors, you can come down and start looking at colleges. It gives you a chance to do more investigation on those colleges to make a couple campus visits," said Education Quest's Jodi Vanden Berge. "You know, once those students get into the senior year, they're just busy, there's so much going on that it's nice to have a little narrowed choice once you get there."

Around 700 people showed up during the first hour alone for this two hour event.

Education Quest hosts these college fairs in different regions throughout the state.
