A Colorado man died Sunday after the pickup he was riding in went out of control on Interstate 80, due to icy road conditions.
According to the Seward County Sheriff's Office, the accident occurred around 7:30 p.m. Sunday just west of the Utica interchange.
Deputies say an eastbound pickup carrying 24-year-old Anthony Morales and four other people hit a patch of ice and swerved toward another eastbound vehicle, striking it. The pickup then slid off the road and rolled into a steep ditch.
The four others in the truck were able to get out on their own, but authorities say Morales was trapped inside and died before he could be freed.
