Community Building Block Party Promotes Play, Highlights Kearney Organization

Encouraging the community to be more active, a Kearney organization uses a fun tool to inspire families to get out and do something.

The Buffalo County Community Partners hosted its second annual community-building block party Sunday afternoon, in hopes to inspire families to do more of these activities in their own neighborhoods.

It's also to spread awareness for programs like the Youth Advisory Board or Alzheimer's Awareness.

"There's a litany of things this organization is doing and it's fun activities like this, come together, enjoy, celebrate," said event organization co-chair Jonathan Nikkila. "But it puts a spotlight on all activities going on in the organization."

The community block party was held in conjunction with the final day of the Kearney Community Olympics.
