Community Olympic And 'Team Jack' Foundation Good Fit

Weekend warriors are uniting for three days of fun, friendly competition, and bragging rights, with a unique opportunity thrown in the mix.

Community spirit is what it's all about, as more than 1,000 people and 40 teams compete in Kearney's 18th annual Community Olympics.

It's the biggest event yet, but this year's also a bit different, as event officials decided to partner with the "Team Jack Foundation."

It's the first time for the collaboration that some say just seemed like the right fit.

"There's so much excitement with our games; I think that a lot of people believe in wellness," said KPR director Scott Hayden. "And I think this kinda goes hand in hand and so many teams have gotten behind it already, I think we've raised at least five thousand dollars."

The Community Olympics continues into Sunday, with a barbecue and awards ceremony at Harmon Park, and even an appearance from Mr. Jack Hoffman himself, of the "Team Jack Foundation."
