Congressman Helps Send Holiday Cheer to Military and Veterans
Washington, D.C. – One Nebraska lawmaker will help sendsome holiday cheer to thousands of our country's servicemen.
Congressman Adrian Smith collected more than 10,000 cardsfor the Red Cross Holiday Mail for Heroes program.
The program gives Americansthe opportunity to send holiday greetings and thanks to service-members,veterans and their families around the world. Smith's offices inScottsbluff and Grand Island served as collection points for constituents todrop off postage free cards.
"I am truly gratefuland inspired by the outpouring of support from Third District residents for ourtroops, veterans, and military families this holiday season," said CongressmanSmith.
He expressedappreciation for everyone involved and said it shows a lot about Nebraska'sattitude toward our military members.
"Together we haveshown once again the commitment of Nebraskans to those in uniform who serve ournation" said Smith.
