Crossing Guard Injured at GI School

A school crossing guard has been hospitalized in Grand Island, after being clipped by a car.

It happened at Walnut Middle School, the biggest middle school in Grand Island.

Many students at the school walk to class. The school was the site of a construction project to improve pedestrian safety. That project was completed last school year.

A school spokesman says the crossing guard was taken to the hospital.

Police reports on the accident have not been completed.
