The Kearney community has been good to Crossroads Rescue Mission since they opened their doors back in February.
So good, in fact, that when they were approached by the Tri–City Harley Owner's Group -- who wanted to donate Christmas gifts for the residents at the shelter -- they actually didn't need any more. But what they did need was a vehicle, to help get guests where they need to go, so Killion Motors and HOG teamed up to make that happen.
"A lot of our guests were walking or riding bikes from across town to the other end of town to get to their job interview, their doctor's appointments, their actual jobs that they have currently," Crossroads Volunteer Coordinator Jon Lange said. "We have a guest that rides his bike about two miles both ways each way, and it's snowing out. So this is just really going to be a blessing, like no other."
Their new ride is a 2000 Chevy Blazer, and Lange says it will not only get residents to where they need to go, it will also be used to pick up donations from around the city.
