UNK Dominates in AllPhases

Kearney, Neb. – The Nebraska-Kearney baseball teampounded out 18 hits and took advantage of five errors to wallop Fort HaysState, 18-0 (7 innings), Saturday afternoon in Kansas.

This was the first of a four game series, which was movedback a day due to weather.

UNK (10-6, 4-5) scored two runs in each of the first twoinnings before erupting for seven in the fourth. They then tacked on three inthe fifth and four more in the seventh.

From the eight hole, freshman DH Dallas Schramm (MillardNorth) went 2 for 4 with five RBI's. He belted his first collegiate home in theseventh, a three-run shot.

Next, juniors Brandon Landanger (Kearney H.S.), Coby Roming(Canyon, Texas) and Dillon Schroeder (Kearney Catholic H.S.) each had threehits and combined for four of the UNK's eight doubles. Finally at the plate,Roming and juniors Max Ayoub (Grand Island) and Danny Droll (Penrose, Colo.)each knocked in a pair of runs.

On the mound, Lincoln senior Adam Peters threw a two-hitcomplete game shutout. Fanning seven and walking four, he is now 3-1 on theyear.

Hays (3-9, 2-7) used for different pitchers with theirstarter going only 0.2 innings.

The two teams play a double header tomorrow beginning at1:00 p.m.
