In the Ukraine, specialneeds children are left at orphanages because of their disability. If the children are not adopted by the age of4, they go directly to a mental institution where their needs are usually notmet and they are shown very minimal care.
Project TLC is the result of three mothers (including Boston Laughrey,of Kearney, Nebraska) who have adopted special needs children from the Ukraineand their wish to return there to minister to those children who were leftbehind. God has placed it in thesemother's hearts to raise funds to purchase basic necessities for the childrenand adults in these institutions in the Ukraine.
Last year over $2,000 was raised for ProjectTLC. This money bought a large number ofdiapers and new windows in the orphanage. Ukraine had one of the coldest winters in its history last year andbecause of the funds raised at Cupcakes for a Cause, new windows were installeda mere three days before the cold set in. Thisyear, funds will go directly to a new roof for the orphanage.
