The National Weather Service says some damage was done in northeast Nebraska Monday morning when a severe thunderstorm hit the area.

The weather service says the storm destroyed some outbuildings and damaged at least one home in Pierce County northwest of Hadar.

A tornado was reported with the storm as well as hail up to 1.75 inches in diameter, which was reported near Pender and Walthill.

Officials say the storm mostly avoided the area around Pilger in Stanton County, which was hit hard by a tornado on June 16.
