While the rain has been falling over parts of Nebraska this past week, there hasn't been enough to alleviate dry conditions across most of the state.

According to the U.S. Department of Agriculture, only 24 percent of Nebraska's subsoil and 31 percent of the topsoil has adequate or extra moisture.

Fortunately, irrigated corn is still looking okay. About 78 percent of irrigated corn is in good or excellent condition, up from the 74 percent average.

However, only about 40 percent of dryland corn is in good or excellent condition, much lower than the average 64 percent.

Meanwhile, the department says about 64 percent of the soybean crop is in good or excellent condition.
