Director of Nebraska-Western Iowa VA Announces Departure

The Veterans Affairs director for the Nebraska-Western Iowa Health Care System has announced plans to leave her position in September.

Marci Mylan announced Wednesday that she was leaving her position as director to return to clinical and academic work as a psychologist at the Minneapolis VA medical center.

The Midwest Health Care Network will select an acting director before Mylan leaves in mid-September.

“It has been my privilege to serve Veterans here at NWI these last few years,” Mylan said. “We have exceptional people, taking diligent care of Veterans. I have never seen a group of people more committed to getting it right than the marvelous staff here.”

Mylan was appointed as director in January 2012. Before that she served as associate director at the VA Minneapolis Health Care System.
