Dozens gathered at Hall County Veteran’s Memorial Park to remember the fallen Monday.

They were honored with the usual wreath laying, 21 gun salute and playing of Taps.

Grand Island Mayor Jay Vavricek spoke to the crowd about the importance of remembering.

"It's important to honor America, honor service and sacrifice. Also, remember so many efforts of so many different people, the generations and that's why we come together on Memorial Day to acknowledge their service but knowing that service has to be continued," said Vavricek.
