Eustis is considered the 'Sausage Capital' of Nebraska, so it's only fitting that the community celebrates its German heritage with its 'Wurst Tag' festival.
Now in its 35th year, officials say it's a great opportunity to share in traditions.
"All these recipes have been passed down from Germany to our Grandfathers, their fathers, and now to us," said committee member Dough Keller. "And we're here to carry on that tradition."
The event continues Saturday night with sausage stuffing contests, an authentic German meal, and a concert.
