A newly passed bill in the state would regulate how unusual pets are sold.

The Exotic Animal Auctions or Exchange Venue Act will require auctions with exotic animals to register with the state Department of Agriculture.

They would also need to have a veterinarian available during each sale.

The Legislature unanimously passed the bill which covers any animal not commonly sold through licensed livestock auctions.
