School is starting and that means many kids will be heading to practice for various sports, and that means an increased possibility for concussions.

Head injuries are reported twice as often as neck injuries, with teenage football players considered the most at-risk. Concussion injuries typically account for 3 to 6 percent of all injuries in contact sports.

If you suspect your child may have a concussion, seek medical attention right away.

Coaches should know about any previous concussions, especially as the changes of a second concussion are four to six times greater than getting a concussion the first time.
