Broken Bow is in the process of building a new elementary addition,thanks to a 2011 bond issue, but they need help to raise funds for new playground equipment.
The Broken Bow Public Schools Foundationestablished the Little Feet, Big Dreams campaign to raise money for playgroundequipment and other improvements.
Some local residents came up with the idea that the school couldbenefit from corn left on the ground after fields had been harvested. An areafarmer offered to give the Little Feet, Big Dreams campaign 100 percent of theprofits if the school could mobilize people to come hand-harvest a field.
Students, family, friends and patrons of the school district are all invited to help with the fundraiser on Nov. 10 from 9 a.m.- 2 p.m. They are advised to dress appropriately with boots, long pants, long sleeves, gloves and layers for weather changes.
Volunteers should meet at the Broken Bow Bus Barn. Buses will depart from 9-10:45 a.m. and will return at 10:30 a.m. and 2 p.m. RSVP by Nov. 9 to 308.872.6821 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
Another event for the Little Feet, Big Dreams campaign is scheduled for Nov. 11. Two paralympian swimmers will be at the Broken Bow Middle School Auditorium at 7 p.m. The guests are Tucker Dupree and Jessica Long. There will be a free will offering with proceeds going to the Little Feet, Big Dreams campaign.
