Fire danger runs high, with conditions perfect for fires across central Nebraska Thursday afternoon, including a fire that destroyed a local home.

Fire gutted a home in Dannebrog late Thursday afternoon.

NTV was told six rural departments were called out including Dannebrog, Boelus, Cairo, St. Libory, St. Paul, and Elba.

The home is on Roger Welsh Avenue, right near the main intersection in Nebraska's Danish capital.

Smoke billowed from a second story window, and along the roof line.

Firefighters made their attack from the roof above the attached garage.

Firefighters were still on scene Thursday evening. Stay tuned to NTV for updates.
