Firefighters rescued two people from a ditch, after their pickup was involved in a two-car crash.

The call came in just before 5 p.m. Friday night, that two cars collided at Capital and Sky Park, near the Humane Society in Grand Island.

The crash put a pickup in a deep ditch. Officers told NTV two people were taken by ambulance after being rescued from the pickup.

Sgt. Ellis Collins and Sgt. Stan Steele said a young man driving a car ran a stop sign, leading to the crash.

The extent of injuries is not known at this time.

The officers said there was a call about an hour earlier on North Front and Monroe, near downtown Grand Island, where one person suffered a traumatic leg injury.
