French Toast and Overnight Oatmeal
1/4 cup steel cut oats
1 cup water
1 tsp flaxseed
1/4 tsp salt
any variety of fresh or dried fruits/nuts
Combine oats, water, flaxseed and salt in crockpot before you go to bed. Set on low and let cook all night. It will be ready for breakfast when you get up! You can add chopped fruit/nuts to it prior to cooking, or set out for everyone to top their own bowl as they like it!
1 tsp sugar
1/2 tsp vanilla
1/4 cup milk
1/4 tsp cinnamon
Mix all ingredients together except the bread in a shallow dish. Preheat greased griddle to around 325 to 350 (depends on how hot your griddle cooks). Dip both sides of bread into wet mixture and place on griddle...cooking each side a few minutes until a golden brown. Serve with butter and sprinkled powered sugar or syrup!
