"Fugitive of the Week" Busted while Watching Police Standoff

Nathan Musquiz

With nearly every officer in Grand Island on the scene of a standoff, you'd think a major crime scene would be the last place to find someone on the run.

There's probably a reason Nathan Musquiz had been listed as "Fugitive of the Week."

Despite pulling his pink polo shirt over his face, it only made him stand out more and someone told police he was in the crowd, watching a standoff unfold nearby.

Officers chased Musquiz down on foot, and caught him a few blocks later.

He faced a judge on Wednesday. He was already facing a number of drug-related charges, and now can add failure to appear in court and obstructing a police officer to the list of accusations.

Judge Philip Martin set bond at $20,000 total for the cases against Musquiz.

The standoff near the Five Points intersection in north central Grand Island attracted quite a crowd. Joseph Ronquillo was arrested after a police tactical team tased him. He was wanted for robbery.
