      Gas Explosion Kills Worker in SE Neb.

      An explosion has killed a grainelevator worker in southeast Nebraska.

      The 63-year-old worker died in ananhydrous ammonia explosion at Midwest Farmers Cooperative in Tecumseh.

      Emergency crews responded to the blastThursday evening and took two workers to a nearby hospital where one of themlater died.

      Two others, including a sheriff'sdeputy, were treated for exposure to the gas.

      Anhydrous ammonia is used by farmersas a fertilizer. The colorless gas can burn the eyes, throat and cause damageto lungs.
