Drivers continue to pay more at the pump as gas prices remain on the rise.
According to GasBuddy.com, the average price for a gallon of gas in Nebraska rose 5 cents over the past week to $3.58. Nebraska's average remains just under the national average, which on Sunday was $3.59 a gallon after rising 3.4 cents.
Including the change in gas prices in Nebraska during thepast week, prices Sunday were 18.5 cents per gallon higher thanone year ago and are 8.4 cents per gallon higher than this time last month.
GasBuddy.com Senior PetroleumAnalyst Patrick DeHaan says the national average has reached its highest point so far this year.
"As we get very near the final shift to summerspec gasoline, we're seeing prices continue to creep higher in many communitiesacross the country," DeHaan said. He adds that GasBuddy is expecting prices nationally from April to September to average out to just over $3.50 a gallon.
