Gas Prices See Slight Uptick This Past Week

Gas prices continue to rise across the country, and Nebraska is no exception. Average gas prices rose 4.8 cents per gallon in Nebraska last week, according to GasBuddy's daily survey.

The survey shows that while Nebraska's average price per gallon of gas was $3.44, the national average is sitting at $3.51 per gallon, an increase of one cent per gallon over the last week.

Though prices are creeping up, they are still about 20 cents lower than they were in Nebraska this time last year according to the survey. Additionally, the national average is around 27 cents per gallon lower than a year ago.

Senior Petroleum Analyst Patrick DeHaan said, "Oil prices haverebounded, and with the recent strength in stocks trickling over tocommodities, I do expect retail gasoline prices to inch up in the weeks ahead."

DeHaan warns that the biggest increases can be expected along the West Coast where supply remains tight, but all areas of the country may see an uptick in gasoline prices.
