The Gering City Council is making changes to improve the sound at meetings, as well as allowing for those not present to fully experience the meeting.
Gering Mayor Ed Mayo says he's not sure when the system will be ready, but council meetings will be able to be broadcast live on a digital channel. It will feature split video, allowing for any person addressing the council to be seen as well.
In addition, an upgraded sound system will help eliminate spots around the room where it is difficult to hear the proceedings.
The school board will also be able to broadcast their meetings.
