GI City Council Votes Tonight on LGBT Protection
The Grand Island City Council is set to vote on a amendment to city law making sexual orientation protected from discrimination.
The amendment was brought to council last week by councilman Larry Carney, who said it is his desire to see all Grand Island residents protected.
Currently, there are not special protections for sexual orientation. Race, religion, sex and age our the only special classes protected by the city and the state of Nebraska.
