G.I. City Councilman Resigns Citing His Personal Situation
Grand Island -- Mayor Jay Vavricek announced City Councilman Scott Dugan's resignation from service on the Grand Island City Council beginning November 1.
Dugan has been a representative of Ward 2 since December 2008. He cited changes in his personal situation as the reason for no longer being able to adequately fulfill the duties of the city council position in representing the citizens.
Dugan said, "I am thankful of the trust that was bestowed on me for these years of service."
Mayor Vavricek expressed gratitude for Dugan's service over the years.
He said, "I appreciate Scott's years of elected public service. His expertise and advice on the city council have been greatly appreciated. I wish him much success in his future endeavors."
The process to fill Councilman Dugan's unexpired term of service will be announced later in the week.
