GI Locks Up National 4-H Shoot Through 2016

Grand Island has taken aim at a becoming the premier site for the National 4-H Shooting Sports Invitational, and now they've hit the mark.

This is the fourth time in six years the Heartland Public Shooting Park has hosted the event.

And now they've announced it'll stay in central Nebraska through 2016, which they say should strengthen the event.

Grand Island Convention and Visitors Bureau Director Brad Mellema said, "The consistency allows 4-H to go out and seek corporate partners, working with the city of Grand Island and Heartland Shooting Park to make improvements that specifically address the event. When it's here for multiple years, it gives them a really good reason to do that."

4–H families give the facilities high marks. Many say it's one of the best facilities in the nation.

It's one of the few venues where all the major shooting disciplines are located at the same place and it also offers camping on–site.
