G.I. Man Sentenced For Shooting During Pig Slaughtering

A Grand Island man accused of driving drunk with 100 chickens in his vehicle was sentenced Tuesday in an unrelated shooting incident.

Luis Motola-Palacio, 36, had been convinced of second degree assault after pleading no contest to the charge.
Authorities said Motola-Palacio shot his friend Michel Garcia-Rivera during an argument while they slaughtered a pig back in August.
He was sentenced to three to five years in prison. Motola-Palacio was also ordered to pay $5,400 in restitution.
His DUI and animal cruelty case is still pending in Hall County District Court.
