The slogan for Give Hastings Day is “Live Here, Give Here.”
Fifty-five different non-profits are asking for donations. That’s everything from the county fair to Hastings Museum, and also groups like CASA that advocate on behalf of abused children.
CASA Director RuAnn Root said, "This is going to go right to our mission. It's not going to office or utilities or anything along that line. This is money that's going to go directly to benefit children that have been abused or neglected."
They’ve been accepting donations at Heritage Bank in Downtown Hastings. The easiest way to give is online at www.givehastings.org.
Root said, "If you have a passion for a specific mission, whether it's kids or animals or dogs, this is your time to give and step forward and show your support."
In-person donations wrap up at 7 p.m. on May 1, but online donations can be made through midnight.
