Good Samaritan Hospital Recognized as StormReady Supporter
Good Samaritan Hospital in Kearney has been recognized by the National Weather Service in Hastings as a "StormReady Supporter".
Beingconsidered a StormReady Supporter means the hospital has paid special attention to the severeweather preparedness for their staff and visitors. Good Samaritan has provided trainingsessions regarding the hazards of severe weather and safe practices for dealingwith such conditions.
The hospital maintains a clear awareness of developing severeweather situations amongst all facilities and adheres to a well devisedsevere weather operations plan.
A ceremony was held Tuesday to honor Good Samaritan Hospital. A certificate of achievement will be handed out to recognize the staff. A presentation was also given from NWS staff covering winter weather safety and awareness.
Since1999, the NWS sponsored StormReady program has recognized over 2,000 counties,municipalities, universities and other organizations as StormReady. More informationabout StormReady is available at their website.
